Adventure Project
What is Adventure?
Adventure was a project created with the focus on creating a vibrant and living world. The goal was to turn a seemingly boring walking simulator into a immersive experience that the player can travel through, along with small gameplay sections that included climbing, gates and valves. The project took around 3 months to complete from the planning phase all the way to finalization.
Following The Level's Mood
Another important step within the beginnings of creating the project was making a mood board. This allowed me to take notes on what kind of environment I wanted to make, and also know what mood I'm trying to convey to the player walking through the level whenever they passed or met certain points within the world. Originally the mood board was more leaning towards a horror aspect with spirits and blood, but I quickly step back from it for something more simple to achieve.

Blockmeshing Experience
Before prettying up my level, I first had to create it with blockmesh. This was a way for me to design the path of my level and break it down to it's most basic form for me to replace later, much like sketching in actual art. This allowed me to do a bunch of trial and error without needing to worry about doing too much work whenever I needed to roll back changes or add new paths or features.
A New Fear of Stairs
One Blueprint used during the Blockmeshing Phase was something called Dynamic Staircase. I placed it down once and quickly hated it, so I deleted it from the level. However, it turns out that every time I would reopen the project, the stairs would return back from where it was once deleted, but now it was unable to be moved or be applied materials. This lasted for a month before I decided to completely delete the blueprint from the project in frustration, which bugged out the engine for a while.
